Biography: Donald Raymond Alexander 625 Alder Lane Walnut, CA 91789 (909) 594-6521 (home) (909) 228-8507 (cell) alexanders4omni@yahoo.com (e-mail) http://www.cdbaby.com/donalexander (website) Born in San Bernardino, California, reared in Mesa, Arizona, and presently reside in Walnut, CA. I'm 38 years old and I am an Assistant Principal in the Chino Valley Unified School District at E.J. Marshall Elementary School. I have a Masters Degree from California State University at San Bernardino in Educational Administration. I also have a Bachelors of Arts degree in English from California Baptist College. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, I taught public school for fifteen years at grades K-6th. During this time I was a nominee for Disney's America's Greatest Teacher Award Twice. I mention my background only to let you know how seriously hard I will work and perform for the world as a Gospel Artist to obtain my ultimate dream and goal: A recording contract with a major label. Music has always been a vital part of my life. At age 8, I was called upon to sing at an assembly with 1200 people attending at Poston Junior High School in Mesa, Arizona. After I sang my song I received thunderous applause. I sang the song: "Come to the Water" a gospel Maranatha song. My Choir director in Junior High, Mr. Scott Coffin, was the first to recognize my solo talents. He entered me in a state solo and ensemble festival three times. Of these three times, two were 1st place finishes, and one a second. The Pacific High School Vocal Ensemble, under Mr. John Will, did over seventy performances in one year (the busiest high school group in the county) and we were selected to sing and dance for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1982. What a thrill it was to perform at Dodger Stadium. Mr. John Will entered me into the San Bernardino County Honor Choir Competition, where only a few students are chosen from each school to attain the honor of singing in the San Bernardino County Honor Choir. As I entered the room two men greeted me, then they asked me to sing. The moment I hit the first notes their eyebrows raised, countenances changed, they started smiling, and during my song they started talking to each other like mad men. They loved my voice. A week later I was selected for their most coveted choir: The San Bernardino County Honor Choir. I have been a member of the Abundant Living Family Church in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. I am a regular soloist and also play the keyboard and do vocals for the praise and worship team. During my college years I was a regular soloist at the 5000 member Immanuel Baptist Church in San Bernardino, CA under the direction of Pastor Rob Zinn. My grandfather, Mr. Rhynes, had these last words for me before he left this earth: "Just keep singing Donnie." I dedicated my country tune (Track 4) "Stay with me" to the memory of my late grandfather. Nashville needs to hear that tune. It's really awesome. Thank you for your consideration.
