Description: The Multi - Cultural musical Mix At the present, Steve has composed and performed a number of pieces reflecting his own experience living and studying music in areas such as the inner-city, North America, Asia, and Canada.
Biography: Steve Duster began to study ethnic music at an early age on the West Side of Chicago, Illinois. Throughout his life Steve has experienced music from a variety of races, cultures, and nationalities including African American, Asian, European, and Jewish. Musical styles include a combination of Classical, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Asian, Sacred, Jewish, Contemporary Christian, and Gospel. At the present, Steve has composed and performed a number of pieces reflecting his own experience living and studying music in areas such as the inner-city, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and a variety of other lifestyles throughout North America. Steve has studied and performed on the piano and electronic keyboard for over 25 years, His skills and techniques combined with years of training both on the street and with a few top professors has given Steve the edge on piano, keyboard performances, and composition. Besides performing alone, Steve has performed and toured with a variety of groups such as the University Concert Band, the University Chorale, and the Choral Union at Pacific Lutheran University. Steve Duster has received a Master of Arts in Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, and an undeclared major in Music at Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington. Steve currently works as a teacher for the Department of Defense Schools: He also is the owner and founder of Sand Dust Studios and Elkanah Records.

Stephen Duster writes piano compositions that are real and down to earth. His music is a reflection of his life including the many events that he's experienced personally. Steve has lived and traveled from the ghettos of Chicago, the communist boarder of North Korea, the Philippine jungle, Japan, to the wonderful North West of the United States. He has studied ethnic music influenced by his experiences living in an African American Culture to classical music living in a predominantly Caucasian culture and studied with some of the best piano professors known. "When I perform, I perform from the heart of who I am as God's creation. All of my compositions have meaning and most of them are based on a personal story that I've experienced." Some people call his music classical new age; others say Steve sounds like George Winston or Enya. "I would say that I enjoy and love to play the piano."
